Jade Gani
Jade has been the proud Head of the Private Client department at Aston Bond Law Firm since April 2017. Under her careful watch and continued nurturing, the department has flourished; growing year on year, with no signs of slowly down. It was at Aston Bond that she first began working with Duncan and Stephen and together they decided to do more for the community by setting up The Wishing Will Foundation.
With a passion for all that she does, Jade’s mission has been to ensure she is the go-to person for anyone struggling with grief, wanting to proactively tax plan or those vulnerable individuals requiring a touch of extra TLC. She prides herself on being able to connect with her Clients on a personal level, whilst always being able to provide expert, professional advice in simple terms. In particular, Jade suffers from her own invisible illnesses and uses her experiences to adapt and truly empathise with other vulnerable individuals; always being patient and adopting a variety of helpful, unique and inventive ways to capture clear instructions, often in very difficult circumstances. Her dedication to her field and exceptional work meant she was crowned the Young Practitioner of the Year at the British Wills & Probate Awards 2020.
Community has always been important to Jade, who regularly volunteers at her local Citizen’s Advice Bureau and teaches GCSE and A Level students in her free time. The Wishing Will Foundation has been an extension of her previous charitable pursuits; where she has provided free Wills for patients at Thames Hospice and, throughout the pandemic, has extended this to include all staff and volunteers there, as well as all NHS staff generally.
As the landscape of Private Client is constantly changing, Jade continues to study and is currently an Associate Member of STEP and an Associate Member of Solicitors For the Elderly; this helps to ensure she has the advanced knowledge and up to date information required to provide exceptional advice to her clients.
Duncan Thomson
Duncan was one of the founding partners of Aston Bond Law Firm in 2004. He has nearly 20 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer specialising in all aspects of law for companies and businesses including business acquisitions and sales, share acquisitions and sales, management buy-ins and numerous commercial agreements.
He has acted for businesses big and small as well as individuals so has a great breadth of commercial and practical experience to draw upon.
In his spare time Duncan is kept busy with his home life and six wonderful children. Despite this, he also finds the time to play in popular covers band in the local area, enjoys keeping fit and trying new challenges.
Stephen Puri
Stephen is co-founder and CEO of Aston Bond Law firm. He is commercially driven and highly practical but also prides himself on thinking outside the box. In his role as CEO, he is responsible for strategy and development, he drives the firm forward, daring to be different and this has made his vision a successful reality, shaping what we are today. He works closely with a team of professional managers including the firm’s Sales, marketing, IT and finance teams as well as the Partners and other lawyers in the firm. Managing lawyers is certainly “challenging” says Stephen …but has its rewards!
Whilst his passion is business, Stephen also believes that giving something back is an important aspect of every community – and encourages his staff to do likewise.
Stephen’s uses the same skills in his family life being a hands-on Dad to his children and helping nurture them and their future careers. In fact the only thing Stephen doesn’t like to share is his cars!
